Police freeze properties valuing Rs.14.16 cr of 30 drug smugglers in Ferozepur<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, November 30, 20223: \u00a0With the freezing of another property of drug smuggler Jagtar Singh in Ferozepur<\/span> district at Zira valuing Rs.24,81,900, the total properties worth Rs.14.16 cr has been freezed<\/span> in 30 cases, under the Anti-Drug Drive by the police, \u00a0after getting orders from the Competent Authority at Delhi.<\/p>\n

Jagtar Singh was booked under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act-1985, in March 2011, on recovery of 105 kg poppy husk, and the accused was punished with ten years rigorous punishment and Rs.1 lac as a fine. \u00a0\u00a0He further said, Jagtar Singh is involved in cases of 2011 and 2018 under the NDPS<\/span> Act.<\/p>\n

Sources said the accused smuggled drugs from Pakistan and had purchased these properties using drug money.<\/p>\n

Divulging with details, SSP Deepak\u00a0Hillori\u00a0said, with the freezing of one more illegal property of drug smuggler\u00a0Jagtar Singh a resident of Malout<\/span> in Muktsar<\/span> district now at Zira in Ferozepur<\/span> district of the value of Rs.24,81,900 which include 6 marla<\/span> residential house constructed by illegal means of drug business.\u00a0 He said, during the year 2023, in total 30 cases, the illegal properties of the value of Rs.14,16,66,802 has been freezed<\/span> under orders from the competent authority and now the accused or any member of their families cannot sale or transfer the same, till further orders.<\/p>\n

He said, one drug smugglers’ case for getting freezing orders of their property under the provisions of the NDPS<\/span> Act has been sent to the Competent Authority in New Delhi and 10 more such cases are in the pipeline and we are working on the same.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
