Ferozepur<\/span> police nab 6 accused wanted in 38 cases with arms in special drive<\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, October 31, 2023:\u00a0 In an effort to crack down on anti-social elements, the Ferozepur<\/span> police conducted a special drive in their jurisdiction, with an aim at curbing criminal activities and maintaining law and order, nabbed 3 accused with arms in a firing encounter and three in two different cases with arms, wanted in 38 cases registered in Ferozepur<\/span> and other districts in the state.<\/p>\n

Among those apprehended, two were nabbed in an encounter on the link road of village Sodhi<\/span> Wala<\/span> on Ferozepur-Fazilka<\/span> road, when they did not respond on signaling to stop and surrender rather opened fire and in return, the Gurwinderpal<\/span> Singh, ASI Lakho<\/span> Ke Behram<\/span>, and his team, fired injuring the one youth with on leg, while passing the bullet through the car.\u00a0 On asking, they disclosed their identity as Subhash<\/span> alias Bhashi<\/span> of village Bhawra<\/span> (Mamdot<\/span>) and Sewak<\/span> of Butte Wala<\/span> (Mallanwala<\/span>).\u00a0 On search, one 9 mm pistol, one 30-bore pistol, and 2 live rounds.<\/p>\n

Deepak Hillori<\/span>, SSP addressing the media persons said, it was a late-night encounter with firing from both sides and the police teams headed by Randhir<\/span> Kumar SP(D) and Balkar<\/span> Singh, DSP(D), Yadwinder<\/span> Singh DSP Guruharahai<\/span> and Gurwinderpal<\/span> Singh SI, Gursahib<\/span> Singh and Sukhjant<\/span> Singh, Senior Sepoy.<\/p>\n

He said, during scrutiny, it has come to the fore that Subhash<\/span> alias Bhashi<\/span> was wanted in 11 cases under the Arms Act, NDPS<\/span> Act, Prisons Act, and various Sections of IPCs<\/span> including the double murder case at different police stations of the Ferozepur<\/span> and Faridkot<\/span> district while there is record history of his accomplice Sewak<\/span>.<\/p>\n

SSP said, \u201cHad they not been intercepted, they would have gone more criminal activities in the districts as the weapons they are having are dangerous. These accused have grown up over the period under the Bhawra<\/span> gang\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said that in the second incident, three accused identified as Rahul<\/span> alias Akash<\/span> alias Akashi<\/span> of Naurang<\/span> Ke Leli<\/span> village, Jacob alias Jenad<\/span> of Shanti<\/span> Nagar<\/span>, and Tinka<\/span> of Basti<\/span> Awa, were arrested with one pistol 315 bore and one motorcycle without a number.\u00a0 He said Akash<\/span> was wanted in three cases Arms and Prisons Acts of 2018, 2022, and 2023, Jakob in cases of the Arms Act of 2018, and Tinka<\/span> in two cases of the NDPS<\/span> Act and murder case of 2022 and 2023.<\/p>\n

SSP \u00a0said, in the third such success while working swiftly on a tip-off, one accused identified as Gurjant<\/span> Singh alias Bhatti<\/span> of Saddu<\/span> Shah Wala<\/span> was arrested with one illegal pistol 32 bore and 2 live rounds, who was wanted in 20 different criminal cases under Arms Act, murder case at different police stations of the district and at Jalandhar<\/span>, Jagraon<\/span>, Faridkot<\/span>, Ludhiana and Smalsar<\/span> (Moga<\/span>).<\/p>\n

He said we will produce these accused in the court to get police remand for further in-depth serious investigation with a special focus on finding out the previous incidents.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
