Jail Search Operations: Alert jail staff recovers 12 mobiles, banned items from prisoners in Ferozepur<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, October 17, 2023:\u00a0 During the seven search operations conducted in the Central Jail in the recent past, mobiles and other banned items have been recovered from the jail inmates and lying unclaimed in the barracks from the outlet of the bathroom.<\/p>\n

Though the vigilant staff of jail has thwarted the attempt of use of most wanted banned items in the jail but with the recovery of mobiles and other banned items from the packets thrown from outside over the high walls of jail has put a question mark on the security arrangements.\u00a0 Jail premises surrounded by residential areas and open space are posing a threat for throwing of packets containing wanted banned items inside the jail. \u00a0\u00a0In fact, earlier the use of landline phones for a limited time by the inmates in the presence of jail staff has failed as the mobile is easy to operate to remain in contact with the family members and its usage for illegal purposes. But the purpose of keeping the accused away from the outer world, as punishment in the jail is lost rather harassment to the people on getting threat calls for ransom.<\/p>\n

As per the information, during the search operations carried out by the Assistant Superintendents \u2013 Jasvir<\/span> Singh,\u00a0 Sarbjit<\/span> Singh,\u00a0 Sukhjinder<\/span> Singh – one mobile touch screen and SIM Card was recovered from prisoner Satnam<\/span> Singh, and\u00a0 one mobile keypad and SIM card from under trial prisoner Satnam<\/span> Singh.\u00a0 While another three mobiles and one charger was found lying unclaimed, in the jail campus.\u00a0\u00a0 In another incident, one unidentified person had thrown a packet from outside the jail over the high walls and one opening the packet, 7 lighters, 5 cigarettes packets, 9 \u2018bidi\u2019 packets, 5 loose \u2018bidi\u2019 packets, 143 \u2018zarda<\/span>\u2019 sachets, 9 packets of \u2018chaini<\/span> kheni<\/span>\u2019 2 touch screen mobiles, one adopted and one data cable.<\/p>\n

During the search of block number one and barrack number 6, one mobile keypad with battery and SIM card was found. Similarly, during checking 2 SIM cards were recovered from gangster prisoner Kashish<\/span> alias Kuldeep<\/span>.<\/p>\n

On October 15, during two search operations on a tip-off, one mobile was recovered under trial prisoner Balwinder<\/span> Singh and one mobile lying at the outlet of the bathroom was unclaimed.\u00a0 In the second search operation on the in-puts, two mobiles, one headphone, one adopted, one data cable were recovered from under trial prisoner Vishal<\/span> alias Deepu<\/span> and one unidentified person.<\/p>\n

In all the recoveries of mobiles and banned items, cases have been registered under Sections 52-A Prisons Act. and further investigations are on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
