However, addicts seeking their daily fix also use these pills, colloquially called ghode wale capsules (capsules for horses), as \u2018recreational drugs\u2019. However, pregabalin affects the body differently compared to heroin, Pregabalin abuse makes addicts feel high and elated. However, its long-term abuse damages the nervous system and causes multiple health problems, which can also be fatal.<br \/>\nWhile the Health Department has so far, primarily concentrated on retailers, but, now the inspection primarily focused on the wholesale markets in the city and dealers must have proper purchase and sale record and the medicines like pregabalin must be sold on the doctor\u2019s prescription by the chemists.<br \/>\nSoniya Gupta said, this drug is being used for addiction and has to be sold strictly with prescription from the doctor.<br \/>\nShe further said, we have seized 21,800 pregabalin capsules worth Rs.6,00,600, to avoid its misuse, as the firm could not produce proper records of sale or purchase and reported the matter to the higher authorities for further action in the matter.
