BSF,Police in joint opt, seize 29.26 kg heroin in Ferozepur<\/p>\n
Ferozepur, August 21, 2023: On the intervening night of 20th \/ 21st Aug\u2019 2023, on specific information, a Joint Operation was conducted by BSF and Punjab Police (CI Ferozepur) on the bank of river Sutlej near Village – Gatti Matar, Distt – Ferozepur.
\nFurther, during operation at about 0245 AM, troops observed movement of some Pak miscreants \/ smugglers coming from Pakistan to India side. Troops initially challenged them. On their reaction, sensing imminent threat and to stop further misadventure, troops fired upon the miscreants \/ smugglers. Resultantly, 01 smuggler got hit on his hand. Subsequently, troops apprehended 02 Pak smugglers alongwith 26 packets of narcotics suspected to be Heroin (Net wt – appx 29.26 Kg). After first aid, the injured smuggler was referred to Civil hospital. Search operation still going on
