Sikka<\/span> Khan gets 30-day visa to attend last rites of his Pakistani brother<\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, July 10, 2023: After 75 years of the partition of the country, Sikka<\/span> Khan got the 30-day Visa to attend the last rites of his Pakistani brother-\u00a0 Sikkan<\/span> Khan (Mohammad Habib<\/span> Gujjar<\/span>) and Muhammad Sadiq<\/span>, who met at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur<\/span> Sahib in Narowal<\/span> district, with the efforts of Pak based Imtiaz<\/span> Rashid Qureshi<\/span>, Chairman, Bhagat<\/span> Singh Memorial Foundation.<\/p>\n

Soon after on July 3, the Pakistani brother was separated from his Indian brother forever after a brief illness. On reaching Pakistan by corridor, Sikka<\/span> Khan of Phulewala<\/span> village of Bathinda<\/span> district met his brother Muhammad Sadiq<\/span> and his family living in Faisalabad district of Pakistan.<\/p>\n

Bhagat<\/span> Singh Memorial\u00a0 Foundation Chairman, Imtiaz<\/span> Rashid Qureshi<\/span>, is advocate by profession and social activist, is fighting to prove the innocence of Bhagat<\/span> Singh besides pursuing the Pakistan government to name the Shadman<\/span> chowk<\/span> as Bhagat<\/span> Singh Chowk<\/span>. He said that due to the efforts of his organization Sikka<\/span> Khan has been issued a 30-day visa to stay in Faisalabad only by the Pakistan Embassy in New Delhi to attend the last rites of his late brother Sadiq<\/span> Gujjar<\/span>.<\/p>\n

At the time of partition in 1947, the mother of Sikka<\/span> Khan had taken them to her village Phulewala<\/span> and lateron<\/span> riots broke out and brother of Sikka<\/span> Khan\u00a0 left Jagraon<\/span> with his family but there was no further contact. Sikka<\/span> Khan’s mother became mentally disturbed and ended her life by jumping herself\u00a0 in the canal, he added.<\/p>\n

Qureshi<\/span> said that due to the efforts of his organization, Sikan<\/span> Khan has been issued a 30-day visa to stay in Sir Faisalabad by the local Pakistani embassy to attend the funeral of his late brother Sadiq<\/span> Gujjar<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Qureshi<\/span> said, still hundreds of people on both sides \u2013 India and Pakistan \u2013 who are above 60 years, are interested to visit each other\u2019s place but because of Visa it could not be possible.\u00a0 He appealed to both the governments to show generosity in giving \u00a0Visa like other diplomats \u00a0in normal course, there will definitely be normalcy in relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
