2023:\u00a0 Three persons have been booked on the complaint of Assistant Superintendent Jail \u00a0Jasvir Singh and Sukhjinder Singh and while \u00a0Assistant Thanedar Madan Lal has been arrested for taking banned items inside the jail in socks wrapped in plastic polythene, two jail inmates have been booked for recovery of three mobiles during the search operation.\u00a0 However, later on, Madan Lal reported to have been released on bail.<\/p>\n<p>Added here, around 250 mobiles have so far been recovered during the current year with the alert jail staff but smuggling in banned items continues to be a regular process with new modus operandis for which warrants for plugging and more intensive security at the entry points<\/p>\n<p>As per the information, alleged accused Assistant Thanedar Madan Lal has been arrested with five sachets of \u2018zarda\u2019 hidden under his belt and in the socks \u2013 four packed and one loose. \u00a0\u00a0After this, in the search operation carried out in the jail, 3 mobiles were also recovered and under trial prisoner Sukhdev Singh along with two unidentified persons were booked.\u00a0 One phone of the keypad facility was recovered from the barrack while the other two were found as unclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Jail Superintendent informed that on June 21 at around 12 noon at the time of charge of shift, the \u2018zarda sachets\u2019 were recovered from Assistant Thanedar Madan Lal.<\/p>\n<p>Further investigations are on with Gurmel Singh, Investigation Officer appointed in this case with registration of a case under Sections 52-A of Prisons Act.<\/p>\n<p>The security in and outside the jail has been intensified, said Jail Superintendent, Gurnam Lal adding that we keep the criminals which are not needed by the society and our duty is custody, care and correction of the inmates.\u00a0 We also plan to organise motivational seminars so that when they come out as refined personalities acceptable to the
