Ferozepur, June 22, 2023: Shortly the 55 irrelevant laws will be removed, said Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal after paying tributes at the \u00a0National Martyrs Memorial Hussainiwala.\u00a0 He was accompanied by Rana Gurmit Singh Sohdi, senior BJP leader.<\/p>\n

Later, after visiting the hide out place of Shaheed Bhagat Singh inTuri Bazar, he said, since this building is eligible for declaring it protected heritage, we will examine it for its development.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media persons, Union Law Minister Arju Ram Meghwal said, our programme is to highlight the 9 years progress card of Modi government about the projects undertaken and<\/p>\n

He said, Ferozepur is a historical place and land of martyrs. But they did not find a right place in history and even in our songs so that the new generations should know about the realities of their sacrifices. \u00a0\u00a0It lacks the museum where people could know the history of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.\u00a0 It will shortly come up, with historical facts, at a cost of Rs.5 crore from the Museum Grant Fund scheme; the Light and Sound show will also be further developed with proper sitting arrangements.<\/p>\n

Union Law Minister made it clear that GOI doesn’t work on discrimination policy and further funds can only be released if the Punjab government will not give the utilisation certificate and funds have not been diverted.<\/p>\n

When asked about the removal of 1836 British Colonial laws which are not needed, which give trouble to the citizens, \u00a0Arjun Ram Meghwal said, in the last eight-and-a-half years, we have removed 1,486 obsolete and redundant laws. In the coming time, we will push a bill to remove another 55 laws and other provisions that are obsolete, which are in process.<\/p>\n

We are also going to organize a 100 years Good Governance programme and Ferozepur is leading in this event and the best example is of Canal construction in 1925 which is a sign of prosperity of farmers of the area.<\/p>\n

Later on, during his visit, a deputation of Bar Association led Advocate Gursahib Singh Mall, also presented a memorandum to the Union Law Minister Meghwal to set up a special CBI court in Ferozepur also.<\/p>\n
