Ferozepur<\/span> Police Panels destroy drugs seized in 17 cases as per court guidelines<\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, May 30, 2023: \u00a0The Drug Disposal Committees of high and district level panels of \u00a0Ferozepur<\/span> Range police on Tuesday destroyed heroin, habit forming tablets, and capsules. The contraband seized in 34 cases (2 of Ferozepur<\/span>, 8 of Fazilka<\/span>, 7 of Tarn Taran<\/span>) in Ferozepur<\/span>, was consigned to flames at the designated place.<\/p>\n

The seized drugs were disposed of \u00a0today by the High Level Drug Disposal Committee and District Level Drug Disposal Committees, under the tutelage of Ranjit<\/span> Singh Dhillon<\/span>, DIG, Ferozepur<\/span>, in the presence of Gurmit<\/span> Singh Chauhan<\/span>, SSP Tarn Taran<\/span>, Bhupinder<\/span> Singh,, SSP Ferozepur<\/span>, Smt.Aveent Kaur<\/span>, SSP Fazilka<\/span> along with SPs and DSPs<\/span>, keeping in view the guidelines of the Punjab and Haryana<\/span> High Court, at the premises of M\/s Sukhbir<\/span> Agro Engineering Limited (SAEL<\/span>) at Hakumat<\/span> Singh Wala<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Divulging with the details, DIG Ferozepur<\/span> Range, Ranjit<\/span> Singh Dhillon<\/span> said, the disposal done by High Level Drug Disposal Committee was \u2013 in 2 cases of Ferozepur<\/span> 22.62 kg heroin, in 8 cases of Fazilka<\/span> 88.375 kg heroin, 3,43,700 tablets, in 7 cases of Tarn Taran<\/span> 62.240 kg heroin, 16,400 tablets, 1,184 capsules making a total disposal of 172.677 kg heroin, 3,60,100 tablets and 1,184 capsules in 17 cases.<\/p>\n

He further said the Punjab Police on directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant<\/span> Mann is acting on mission mode to rid the state of the drug menace.\u00a0 He pointed out that the vigil against drug peddlers had been stepped up in the past.\u00a0 The drive against drugs will be a regular feature and further intensified, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
