IMA submits memorandum to Distt<\/span> Admn<\/span> against\u00a0 RTH Bill 2023 by Rajasthan govt<\/p>\n Ferozepur<\/span>, March 23, 2023:\u00a0 On Tuesday, Indian Medical Association, headed by Dr.Jyoti Kalia<\/span>, President IMA Ferozepur<\/span> Unit, \u00a0submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissionecr, Ferozepur<\/span>, in the name of Ashok<\/span> Gehlot<\/span>, Chief Minister, Rajasthan, against the unconstitutional RTH Bill 2023 passed by Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, which entails provision for free treatment to everyone during emergencies in private sector also.<\/p>\n On this occasion, Dr.Ashwani Kalia<\/span>, Dr.Shaweta Aggarwal<\/span> , Dr.Sheel Sethi<\/span>, Dr.RSSandhu, Dr.KD Singh, Dr.Anurag Amin Director Frances Newton Mission Hospital Ferozepur<\/span>, Dr.Sethi , and Dr.Pardeep Aggarwal<\/span> were also present.<\/p>\n Added here, the Rajasthan assembly has recently passed the Right to Health Bill which protects the rights of patients to access equitable healthcare services.<\/p>\n The Indian Medical Association (IMA) had observed a nationwide black day on March 27 to protest against Rajasthan’s Right to Health (RTH) Bill, which was recently passed in the state assembly amid medical professionals’ demand to roll it back. Doctors across the state, including IMA’s<\/span> Rajasthan chapter, have been protesting against the Act, that gives rights to every resident to avail free of cost treatment along with \u2018emergency treatment\u2019 without prepayment at any health institution in the state.<\/p>\n The RTH Bill was passed in the assembly on March 21, making Rajasthan the first ever state to form a law protecting the rights of patients to access equitable healthcare services.<\/p>\n On the other hand, the Rajasthan Minister has said there is no scope to amend the health bill.<\/p>\n Dr.Kalia said, as practising<\/span> doctors, we are concerned about the \u2018black law\u2019 and the violence unleashed on the doctors of Rajasthan.\u00a0 We condemn the excessive police action on doctors who are serving the nation selflessly and have defended the nation against Covid-19.<\/p>\n IMA President said, the government cannot absolve itself from its responsibility by transferring it to the private sector and the new bill will not be in the best interest of our nation and citizens.
