The teams of the Police department and Excise officials work in close coordination to effectively to nail excise related crimes.<\/p>\n<p>A team of gazetted officers Gurmit Singh SP(PBI), Fateh Singh Brar DSPL(D), Jgir Singh, DSP(PBI) Special Crime, Incharge CIA along with staff, a patrolling was carried out in the border area villages along with Sutlej River where the illegal brewing of \u2018lahan\u2019 is carried out when a recovery of 17,000 ltrs \u2018lahan\u2019 long with 8 plastic tarpaulins used for storage, were recovered in the presence of excise official, Inderpal Singh, Inspector.<\/p>\n<p>As per information, no arrest could be made as none was available at the place of recovery point.\u00a0 However, a case has been registered under Excise Act and further investigations are on.<\/p>\n<p>However, the department has reaffirmed that the drive to curb banned liquor will be continued in the future, and strict action would be initiated against any person found to be indulging in illicit liquor trading, the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Ferozepur, 17,000 ltr \u2018lahan\u2019 recovered and destroyed to avoid its misuse Ferozepur, February 8, 2023: During the special search operation carried by the police in the presence of excise officials, 17,000 ltrs \u2018lahan\u2019 was recovered and destroyed on the spot, to avoid its misuse.
