(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During 2022, 437 mobiles found inside jail<\/p>\n<p>10 mobiles in 2 days seized from Ferozepur jail<\/p>\n<p>Ferozepur, December 23, 2022:\u00a0 With the regular recovery of mobiles and banned items from inside the jail, the idea of keeping the criminals away from the social contacts as punishment is lost.\u00a0 During the past two days 10 mobiles \u2013 7 mobiles, 36 sachets of \u2018zarda\u2019 and one pack of cigarette on Wednesday and 3 mobiles, 54 sachets of \u2018zarda\u2019 on Thursday have been recovered from near bathrooms the jail from the five packets thrown over the high walls.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2017: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 87 mobiles, 620 tablets, 30 gm powder, 250 gm opium<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2018: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 35 mobiles, 750 tablets, 20 gm opium<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2019: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 70 mobiles, 555 tablets, 22 gm powder, 22 gm opium, 13.20 gm \u00a0heroin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2020: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 130 mobiles, 675 tablets, 11gm powder, 30 gm opium, 1.7 gm heroin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2021: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 265 mobiles, 160 tablets, 67 gm powder, 17 gm opium, 2.75 gm heroin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2022: \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 437 mobiles, 82.40 gm powder, 2.7 gm opium, 65 gm heroin and charas as on date.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the jail officials have also been found to be involved in supplying the banned items to the inmates including one doctor, one deputy superintendent.\u00a0 Not only this, an incident of inscribing \u2018gangsters\u2019 on the back of one of the inmate had also surfaced.\u00a0 The connivance of staff cannot be ruled under these circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>The high rising building around the jail premises and open area, have posed a security threat with the recovery of unclaimed banned items including mobiles, even from the high security zones, thrown from the outside.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a case under Prisons Act is registered with appointment of IOs only with no further action as taking the custody of prisoners for
