Farmers threaten to protest<\/p>\n
Ferozepur, August 29, 2022:\u00a0 The Deputy Commissioner in a letter to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) BSF Headquarter, Ferozepur has asked that the government land in possession of private land mafia be removed and proper monitoring may kept over them at Gate No.195 Post of DT Mal in the villages \u2013 Dona Telu Mal, Gandhu Kilcha Uttar, Gandhu Kilcha Hittar which is presently being cultivated by hundreds of farmers cultivating land between border fencing and zero point.<\/p>\n
In a letter, it has been stated that this has brought to the notice of the district administration by the SDM that the provincial land and girdwari was land at Gate No.195 was checked at these villages in the presence of BSf Assistant Commandant Mula Ram Meena and subordinate staff, which has been occupied by some persons \u2013 say 3-35 acres under paddy, 20-25 acre under cotton and the rest 700 acres is lying vacant, which has been \u00a0illegally occupied by around 53 persons and has been verified by Sangharsh Committee members and some private persons.\u00a0 This illegal possession has now been taken in the government account as the look after of this land being across the fencing and river by the revenue department officials is not possible and this has not been allotted to any persons under any policy. The orders have been issued to the BSF to stop illegal possession of this land so that government land is properly monitored.<\/p>\n
R S Bhullar, SDM confirmed the action taken by the district administration.\u00a0 He said, these farmers are having the small piece of land across the fencing but they have encroachment over the land which is not in their possession.\u00a0 Now we will provide the details of farmers with proper khasra number of land on the map, to the BSF authorities, for issue to new Gate Pass cards with proper data.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the farmers led by BKU Sidhpur and Jagish Singh, Gurjant Singh, Gurcharan Singh and others, \u00a0in possession of this land, by holding a press conference in the Press Club, threatened to protest against these orders on the plea that they are holding the valid documents of revenue department of the possession of the land and cultivating the same for the last number of years. They said, the farmers having land across the fencing were issued the Gate Passes by the BSF in 2018 for a period of 5 years of which the renewal will be due in 2023.<\/p>\n
Munsha Singh, former Sarpanch said, the government is unnecessary harassing the farmers who are cultivating the land for the last more than 3 decades.\u00a0 The farmer of villages Bhamba Haji Burji are objecting to it as we all had to pass through their village.\u00a0 He said, even if we have to submit the documents, we will submit the same which are already with the revenue department and the same can be physically verified by deputing the government official.<\/p>\n
Cursing the government, one of the farmer said, we feel distressed even of the rule of British, what to say of providing the facility to provide \u2018Beda\u2019 to cross the river with our tractors and vehicles over the Sutlej River.<\/p>\n
Having won the cases in the court and all are having tubewell and motor connections in their names, the farmers threatened to start protest if their demands are not accepted to allow them to continue to look after our lands across the fencing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
