Ferozepur<\/span>\/Zira<\/span>, August 5, 2022: \u00a0District Education Officer (DEO) Secondary Education, Chamkaur<\/span> Singh Sran<\/span> exhorted the teachers to never let the vigour<\/span> to learning wane and also stressed that they need to adapt themselves to the new challenges to become successful in teaching profession.<\/p>\n

DEO interacted with the Social Science and English teachers during the 10- day long subject- related workshop being held at GSSS<\/span> (Boys) Zira<\/span>.<\/p>\n

In this workshop, the English and SST teachers teaching in 229 government schools of various 11 educational blocks of the district are being called in turns as per middle, high and secondary categories of schools. These teachers are being acquainted with the new activities and approaches to teach Social Studies and English subjects.<\/p>\n

Informing about the workshop, District Mentor English and SST Gurwinder<\/span> Singh said that the idea behind this workshop- cum- seminar is to gear up the teachers to adapt themselves to the new techniques to teach these two subjects to bring about maximum learning among the students. Now, a teacher is no longer the sole controller of the class, rather he needs to fit himself to a new role of being a facilitator while the students are learning English through activities. Exposure to listening, speaking, reading and writing skills is more important than teaching the language in rote- learning or grammar translation method.<\/p>\n

Jyoti<\/span> Bala and Harjit<\/span> Kaur<\/span>, newly- appointed teachers of English and SST, while sharing their experience of the workshop said that many newly \u2013 appointed teachers like them have a great learning experience as we have got an opportunity to work and mingle with many senior teachers.<\/p>\n

Sukhdev<\/span> Masih<\/span>, Tajinderjit<\/span> Singh and Deeepak<\/span> Kumar Sharma are the resource persons who are imparting training to the teachers. Principal of the school Karamjit<\/span> Singh Josan<\/span> also motivated the teachers to bring into use all the new techniques into their teaching.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
