Police nab 5 drug pushers with heroin, weapon, drug money<\/p>\n

Ferozepur<\/span>, June 26, 2022:\u00a0 The Ferozepur<\/span> police have launched a \u2018clean-up\u2019 drive against narcotics and maintaining law and order. Working swiftly on the tip-off, the Punjab Police in Ferozepur<\/span> nabbed three drug peddlers in Ferozepur<\/span>, with recovery of heroin, weapons, drug money, mobiles and motorcycle.<\/p>\n

Sources said since smuggling of heroin and other intoxicant substances reduced during the pandemic, synthetic drugs began to be increasingly peddled in the city through the international border.<\/p>\n

The three accused arrested from near Madhre<\/span> village railway crossing, are Sandeep<\/span> Sippy<\/span> of Khai<\/span> Pheme<\/span> Ki, Gurjit<\/span> Singh alias Jita<\/span> of village Khilchi<\/span>, and Sagar<\/span> of Saharanpur (UP) \u00a0by the team constituted under the supervision of SSP Charanjit<\/span> Singh Sohal<\/span> of Gurbinder<\/span> Singh SP(I), Satwinder<\/span> Singh Virk<\/span>, DSP along with incharge<\/span> Sadar<\/span> police station Gurmit<\/span> Singh.<\/p>\n

As per the report, the police party headed by Sukhchain<\/span> Singh put up a \u2018naka\u2019<\/span> as per the inpus<\/span> on June 25 and banned three drug peddlers and on search, 2.500 kg heroin, 1 country made pistol with 3 magazines and 15 live cartridges of 7.62 mm, Rs.5 lakh drug money, two small computer \u2018kands\u2019<\/span>, three mobiles one bag and one motorcycle bearing number PB-05-AN-9381.<\/p>\n

A case under NDPS<\/span> Act Sections 21\/61\/85 and Arms Act sections 25\/54\/59 has been registered at Sadar<\/span> police station and further investigations are on with Gurmit<\/span> Singh, IO.<\/p>\n

Gurbinder<\/span> Singh, SP informed that the accused will be produced in the court to get police remand for further investigations and more clues will help in breaking the supply chain.<\/p>\n

However, as per the criminal history of the accused, Gurjit<\/span> Singh alias Jita<\/span> was wanted in two cases of 2019, in the cases under various Sections 452, 324, 323, 148, 149, 307, 323 of IPC and 25, 27 of Arms Act, Sagar<\/span> in one case of Guruharsahai<\/span> under Section 309, 402 IPC and Sandeep<\/span> alias Sippy<\/span> in two cases at Sadar<\/span> police station under Sections 323, 323, 341, 148 and 149 of IPC of 2016 and 2015.<\/p>\n

He also informed\u00a0 about the recovery by \u00a0Narcotic Control Cell under the supervision of Parminder<\/span> Singh, incharge<\/span>, has also arrested two drug smugglers \u2013 Aman<\/span> and Rama of Canal Colony \u2013 with recovery of 300 gm heroin, Rs.50,000 drug money, one pistol .32 bore, 3 magazine, 3 live cartridges and one motorcycle from near \u2018targhar\u2019<\/span> crossing.\u00a0 While Aman<\/span> was wanted in four cases, Raman was in one case under NDPS<\/span> Act in the cases registered in Ferozepur<\/span> and Ludhiana.<\/p>\n

SSP Charanjit<\/span> Singh Sohal<\/span> appreciated the performance of the police team, adding that strict action will be taken against elements plaguing innocent members of society.
