Ukraine Crisis: Anxious parents of\u00a0Ferozepur<\/span>\u00a0want their daughter back home<\/p>\n Ferozepur<\/span>, February 28, 2022: In war-torn Ukraine, the students from border town\u00a0Ferozepur<\/span>\u00a0stuck up have finally decided to come back to India as the situation is not likely to be normal in the near future.<\/p>\n Earlier, one third-year student,\u00a0Ruchika<\/span>, stranded in Ukraine was shared.\u00a0 Now another student of the first year, 17-year-old\u00a0Somya<\/span>\u00a0come to notice, who had just gone in 2021.<\/p>\n It is an 800 km border from\u00a0Kyiv<\/span>\u00a0and there are no arrangements for transportation. Around 20,000 students are said to be stranded in Ukraine. The airlifting of students, by the Indian government, is very slow and it will be too late if immediate steps are not taken, said\u00a0Akram<\/span>\u00a0father of\u00a0Somya<\/span>.<\/p>\n Vikram<\/span>\u00a0says, the eyes and ears of our family are glued to the TV screens watching the latest developments of the\u00a0Russia-Ukrain<\/span>\u00a0war and we have no idea yet on when they will be able to board a flight to return home safely. We are having sleepless nights as our daughter is struggling in war-hit Ukraine for her survival.<\/p>\n In an emotional voice, father Vikram<\/span>\u00a0said, the government should make arrangements for early airlifting of students from Ukraine as they are not safe there now.\u00a0 Our daughter is cursing us, to raise her voice before the government at the earliest possible, because of limited resources now as they are now running out of food and essential supplies.<\/p>\n Jyoti<\/span>, mother of\u00a0Somya<\/span>\u00a0with tears in her eyes said, our daughter, who is in the first year of\u00a0MBBS<\/span>, is living in the basement.\u00a0 The Russian army is not allowing them to move out. On hearing about the tense situation in Ukraine, we had booked the ticket also but in the meantime, Russian Army attacks have started and she is stuck there now. Our daughter shared that the Russian army is seizing the passport if the students come out of the bunkers.<\/p>\n Due to poor connectivity, the call to\u00a0Somya<\/span>\u00a0could not be matured and in such a situation, we feel more worried about her status.\u00a0 Our government should initiate appropriate action.
