\nFerozepur, June 14, 2021: The Excise raid conducted on Monday in the enclaves of river Satluj in the surrounds of villages – Ali ke, Chandiwala, Habib ke, Nehanganwale chughe, Raje Ki Gatti & Chakar Da Bedha and seized 64,000 ltr of \u2018lahan\u2019 and 1050 bottles of illicit liquor.
\nThe illicit liquor business, using \u2018lahan\u2019 (raw material for making liquor), has been going on in border areas for a long time. To check the illegal manufacture and sale of illicit liquor, the raids are conduced as a part of operations to control it, said excise official.
\nThe raids were conducted under the supervision of Excise Inspector Gurbakhash Singh, Zira along with excise force.
\nThe other material seized was 32 tarpaulins, 1 iron drum, 4 aluminum utensils, 5 rubber tubes along with 4 working stills and taken into custody.
