Ferozepur<\/span><\/span>, May 2, 2021: Continuing with a check to crackdown hideouts for extracting \u2018lahan\u2019<\/span><\/span> and illicit liquor, the excise and police cops on Sunday, jointly conducted a raid in the enclaves of river Satluj<\/span><\/span> in the surrounds of villages Gatti<\/span><\/span> Khunder<\/span><\/span> and Chandiwala<\/span><\/span> and recovered 7,000 lts \u2018lahan\u2019<\/span><\/span> in tarpaulins and 500 bottles of illicit liquor in five rubber tubes. The raid by the excise force was supervised by excise inspector Gurbaksh<\/span><\/span> Singh.<\/p>\n

Whereas during April 2021, 1,82,850 ltrs<\/span><\/span> \u2018lahan\u2019<\/span><\/span> and 458 ltrs<\/span><\/span> illicit liquor recovered and in May, this is the second recovery.\u00a0 Earlier on May 1, 9,000 ltrs<\/span><\/span> \u2018lahan\u2019<\/span><\/span> was recovered from village Mannu<\/span><\/span> Machian<\/span><\/span> in Makhu<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

During the raid, the recovered \u2018lahan\u2019<\/span><\/span> and illicit liquor was unclaimed and destroyed on the spot to avoid its misuse.\u00a0 However, seven tarpaulins and 5 rubber tubes were taken into custody and police informed to proceed further in the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
