28,000 ltrs \u2018lahan\u2019 recovered in Beas and Sutlej enclave, destroyed to avoid its misuse<\/p>\n

Ferozepur, April 18, 2021:\u00a0 In a joint raid by excise and police officials, 28,000 ltrs \u2018lahan\u2019 was recovered in the enclaves of Beas and Sutlej in the surrounds of village Marah at Harike.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth recovery of huge quantity of \u2018lahan\u2019. Earlier recoveries were made \u2013 13,000 ltrs \u00a0on April 11, 12,000 ltrs on April 12 \u00a0and 50,000 ltrs on April 17.\u00a0 In the past also there had been various operations had been carried out to thwart the attempt of sale of illicit liquor in the area.\u00a0 None of the accused involved in this could be arrested as they fled away from the scene on seeing the raided party.<\/p>\n

The entire operation was carried out under the tutelage of J.S,Brar, Deputy Commissioner Excise by a team of excise inspector Gurbaksh Singh Zira Circle along with the excise, police force of Ferozepur and Tarn Taran.<\/p>\n

During the raid 28,000 litrs \u2018lahan\u2019 was recovered and destroyed on the spot.\u00a0 The material like 8 big tarpaulins, 6 iron drums and 8 aluminum utensils were taken into custody as case evidence. \u00a0Meanwhile a case has been registered at Hari Ke Police station and further investigations are on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
