Ferozepur, October 31, 2023: To crack down on anti-social elements, the Ferozepur police conducted a special drive in their jurisdiction, with an aim at curbing criminal activities and maintaining law and order, the CIA team nabbed 2 accused with arms wanted in 4 cases registered against them under NDPS and Arms Act during 2018 and 2022.
Divulging with the details, Deepak Hillori SSP said, the CIA team during the checking on the Ferozepur-Fazilka highway, to keep an eye on the unscrupulous and suspicious nature persons, two persons identified as Sahil alias Sam and David Bhatti were nabbed with recovery of 2 pistols 32 bore, one revolver 32 bore and 8 live cartridges. The team of Balkar Singh DSP(D), Inspector Gurmit Singh under the tutelage of Randhir Kumar, SP(Investigation) working swiftly on a tip-off about the illegal work by the accused and keeping the illegal weapons were nabbed.
He said Sahil alias Sam is involved in the Arms Act of 2022 of Fazilka while Dabid Bhatti was wanted in three cases of 2018 and 2022 under NDPS and Arms Act at Fazilka and Ferozepur police stations. The district police and special teams are making all possible efforts under the supervision of gazetted officers, who are taking action against bad elements in the entire area, he added.
Meanwhile, we will produce these accused in court to get police remand for further in-depth serious investigation, focusing on finding out the previous incidents.
