In protest, government employees to burn budget copies on April 4
Ferozepur March 26, 2018: Terming the recent Punjab budget presented by the Finance Minister, Manpreet Singh Badal as anti-employees, the Punjab Government employees in protest for not accepting their demands and rolling back of Professional Tax, by burning the budget copies on April 4, at the gate rallies in front of Deputy Commissioner offices, in the state.
Giving this information, Gurnam Singh Virk, State President, Punjab State DC Office Employees Union said, the budget of the Punjab government is most unexpected as the anti-employees attitude of the government has been exposed. The government has totally ignored the future of the employees and pensioners instead Professional Tax of Rs.200 per month has been imposed on the existing tax-payers.
The FM has advocated this tax by mentioning of charging the same in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu but he has declined to mention about those states have released the DA whereas in Punjab after 1.1.2016 neither this has been released nor the 6th Pay Commission Report has been implemented, he added.
In view of the resentment among the employees of the Punjab government, the State Body has decided to register their protest, for not accepting their demands and rolling back of Professional Tax, by burning the budget copies on April 4 in front of the DC offices in the state.
