In one week, 17 mobiles seized from Ferozepur Jail

Ferozepur, June 18, 2022: During the last one week, 17 mobiles have been recovered from inside the jail from the inmates or lying unclaimed or thrown in the packets from outside.

As per the crime report released, 5 mobiles on June 11, 2 on June 13, 3 each on June 14 and 15, one on June 16 and 3 on June 18.

A case under Sections 52A of the Prisons Act was registered at city police station against the inmates and unidentified persons, as usual

Though cautions jail authorities have foiled a few such attempts, to help inmates gain access to the banned items still their vigilance is put to a continuous test, yet Due to a lack of security arrangements at the outer peripheral wall, mobile phones, and other banned items are being smuggled into the jail here by throwing over the boundary wall.

Recovery of mobiles from the jail inmates or unclaimed is a regular feature for the last so many years but it puts a question mark on the security arrangements at the entry points.
