IMA demands before probe before doctor’s arrest in death cases

Ferozepur, February 18, 2017:  The Indian Medical Assocation (IMA) at its 69th Annual Conference – PIMACON held at Ferozepur at the Genesis Institute of Dental Sciences and Research raised their long pending demand before the Hardeep Singh Dhillon, DIG, Chief Guest of the function.

 

The demand put forth was that in case of hospital deaths, the doctor should not be arrested before preliminary inquiry by a board of doctors, said RL Taneja, State President of Indian Medical Association (IMA), while addressing a two day’s conference, PIMACON. He also demanded implementation of the Punjab

 

They demanded that in case of any hospital death, the doctor should not be arrested before the preliminary inquiry being conducted by a board of doctors. Dr RL Taneja, president, IMA (Punjab), demanded implementation of the Punjab Protection of Medicare Service Persons & Medicare Service Institution (Prevention of Violence & Damage to Property) Bill-2008.
