Huge loss to railways – 993 trains suspended, 9357 tickets cancelled in four days

Ferozepur, August 30, 2017: After the verdict on Dera Sirsa Chief, the railways has to cancel 993 trains were suspended besides 9357 tickets were got cancelled by the passengers causing huge loss in crores in Ferozepur division itself.

Up-Down trains cancelled were, 48 express, 63 passenger on 25 Augusut, 111 express and 162 express on 26 August, 83 express and 168passenger on 27 August and 65 express and 144 passenger on August 28.

The railway sources said, the estimated loss due to cancellation of mail, passenger and express trains in Ferozepur Rail Division, is around Rs.11 crore, loss due to non-booking of parcel is Rs.5 crore and from goods trains is around Rs.17 crore.

However, all trains will be restored from Wednesday – August 30.
