Health Deptt up-in-arms after Corona pandemic starts awareness on non-communicable diseases
Ferozepur, November 19, 2020: Taking a lesson from the global Corona pandemic with infection to 55.6 million people and 1.34 million deaths including 1,31,578 deaths in India, the Health Department has simultaneously started awareness about non-communicable diseases also by dispatching the Awareness Van by the Civil Surgeon Dr.Vinod Sareen.
On this occasion Dr. Vinod Sareen, Civil Surgeon informed that this Awareness Van sent by the Punjab Government under the National Health Program for Prevention of Cancer, Diabetes, Stroke and Heart Diseases, would spread awareness among the general public by visiting different areas in the district for two days.
He said, it is hoped that people taking a cue from the awareness messages displayed on the van including of audio and visual message from Health Minister, Balbir Singh Sidhu, would avoid these diseases by changing their eating and drinking habits as all these diseases are called lifestyle diseases.
On this occasion District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Gurinderpal Singh , NCD Consultants Dr. Sonia and Vikas Kalra were present.
