Golden Arrow Division launches Samvedna Project – a mission of preventing food wastage

Ferozepur, December 25, 2017: The Golden Arrow Division of Indian Army has launched Project “Samvedna”  to reach out to the poor and downtrodden to prevent food wastage by collecting the surplus food that is lost or wasted at various stages.

In this regard, a room has been set up within the premises of historical ‘Saragarhi Gurudwara’ where refrigerators and storage arrangements have been done. Chanda Kundra, Chairperson, Golden Arrow Family Welfare Organisation said that the noble initiative draws its inspiration from Guru Nanak Dev’s three main pillars of teaching ‘Naam Japo’, ‘Kirat Karo’ & ‘Wand Kay Shako’.

“Through this project, many houses, communities and civilian agencies will be able to work uniformly toward one common goal of saving food, clothing, blankets beside other utility things and distribute it to the needy so that we are able to help the poor,” she said. Chanda said that the initiative will also inculcate the spirit of compassion and sympathy in the society so that each one of us considers it a social and moral responsibility to feed the needy, prevent food wastage and help the poor.
