General Manager Railways addresses the country over Coronavirus
Ferozepur, March 27, 2020: General Manager, Northern Railway, Rajiv Choudhary in his live address to the people of India on Coronavirus has appealed to stay at home to make the mission of fight against pandemic COVID-19 a success.
In his address, he said, the running of all passengers trains have been stopped till April 14 during the lockdown period and all booking portals have been shut down. But the goods trains are running regularly to transport the essential commodities from one part to another party of the country. However, the refund validity has been extended for a period of three months and passengers should not be in a hurry.
Meantime, the railway has extended the number of relaxations to the business partners and now only electronic document will be sufficient instead of physical RR document.
The railway is taking care of the employees on duty and taking all precautionary measures. Their efforts may not go waste; we should follow the lockdown rules by staying at home to make success the mission of fight against coronavirus.
Meamwhile, Ferozepur division has dispatched 20,000-22,000 ton food-grain, 25,000 ton potato in 9 goods trains to other states and thousands of railway employees are on 24×7 hours duty, said DRM Ferozepur.
