Five Punjab District Bar Associations submit memorandum to FC (Revenue) to withdraw amendments in Punjab Land Revenue Act
Ferozepur, November 2, 2023: A joint representation by five District Bar Associations – Ferozepour Fatehgarh Sahib, Faridkot, Jalandhar, Patiala was submitted to K A P Sinha, Financial Commissioner (Revenue) to look into the notifications of December 10, 2020, issued by the government vide which amendments were made in Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887.
Gursab Singh Mall, President of the District Bar Association said, through the notification, the Government of Punjab had amended the Punjab Land Revenue Act 1887 and major changes have been made in the original Act and some of the amendments made by the government would adversely affect the rights of the public at large to get justice from the revenue officers and courts.
In the memorandum, discussing in detail the problems on each amendment, we had prayed the FC(Revenue) to withdraw the same and hope for an early order in this regard.
