Five mobiles found in garden of Central Jail Ferozepur

Ferozepur, December 25, 2019:  Five mobiles without SIMs along with headphones, reported to have been found in the garden in Ferozepur Jail, opposite barrack number 9, wrapped in a envelope wrapped with black tape along three bundles of bidi and one sachet of tobacco.

A case under section 52-A of Prisons Act has been registered against unidentified person on the complaint of Central Jail authorities. Gurmail Singh has been appointed as IO in this case.

Added here, only two days back four mobiles with batteries and SIMs were recovered from six jail inmates besides recover of 40 mobiles and hundreds of habit forming drugs during the last four months.  This time, with the recovery of headphones has created a suspicion as they are easy to use as hand-free, by putting the ears under the cap or wrapped cloth by putting the mobile in the pocket.

Despite claim of the jail authorities of intensifying the security vigil and plugging of all possibilities of entry of any objectionable and banned material being supplied to the inmates, the entry of mobiles has not been stopped and it has put a question mark on the security arrangements.
