Fire destroys surgical equipment shop
Fereozpur, January 3, 2021: Panic gripped the busy Rajguru Complex area here after a fire broke out in a surgical equipment store on Saturday night.
A major fire broke out in a surgical equipment shop at Ferozepur City on Saturday night. Properties worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes in the blaze.
Immediately on noticing the fire by the watchman of the area, informed the owner that some voices are coming from inside the shop. On opening the shop, there was a blast of glass window panes and the fire-brigade was informed. The fire services rushed to the spot and launched a massive operation to douse the flames.
Chief Fire Officer informed that the two fire tenders controlled the fire by early morning. The blaze was effectively controlled by the firefighters. Though there was a loss of goods in lakhs yet the fire tenders saved its further spread to the adjoining shops. The loss is estimated to be around Rs.15-20 lakhs.
The owner of the shop Rohit Bajaj has appealed to the district administration for financial assistance.
The exact cause of the fire can be ascertained only after a probe but initially, the fire incident is said to be due to a short circuit. In fact, no safety measures are put in such small stores even it houses cotton and chemicals along with medical accessories and equipment.
