Ferozepur sees gradual spike in COVID-19 infections, 240 reported in 24 hrs

Ferozepur, January 22, 2022:  During the last week, 1,228 Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in the district, and on Sunday, 240 COVId-19 positive cases have been reported in Ferozepur with one death.

Covid-19 cases in Ferozepur are on a gradual upsurge, from 18 cases on January 18 to 240 in 24 hours on Sunday highest in this month.

Alarmed over the gradual spike in cases and active cases not dipping in the state, it looks that people have become careless and complacent and are not following the protocol. The district administration has geared up the health department machinery to ramp up the vaccination campaign in the district with an appeal to the public to wear masks and follow social distancing irrespective of the fact that you have got vaccinated or not.

While the active positive cases tally is 880, the death toll is 514 including one patient succumbing to the infection of 72 years age of male in Ferozepur Urban Block was reported today.

There had also been the recovery of 83 positive cases.  However, the results of 411 samples are still awaited.

So far, 3,46,821 samples were taken since the outbreak of coronavirus in this part of the country, out of which 3,29,995 were tested negative, 16,415 positive, and 15,021 recovered.
