Ferozepur, June 3, 2024:  The fate of the MP for Ferozepur Lok Sabha-10 constituency is sealed in the EVMs stored in 4 strong rooms, under 24×7 security arrangements and Ferozepur has got the second position in the overall percentage of voting which has been recorded as 67.02%.  Due to hot weather conditions, the vote polling trend was in the morning and afternoon.

There were four major contestants of the main political parties – Booby Mann of SAD, Rana Sodhi of BJP, Kaka Brar, MLA Muktsar of AAP and Sher Singh Ghubaha of Congress.  It was a 4-cornered contest in the Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency.

The voting percentage in 2019 during the Lok Sabha elections was 72.29% in all 9 constituencies.  This time barring the Abohar constituency, 8 constituencies were presented by AAP MLAs.

Ferozepur got second position in the state in voting percentage, with 67.02 per cent voting, during the scorching heat of 44 degrees Celsius.   While Bathinda with 69.36 per cent voting was in first position and Gurdaspur with 66.67 per cent voting was in third place.

At the constituency level, Fazilka had the maximum voting of 71.83%, followed by Guruharsahai 71.30%, Jalalabad 69.82%, Balluana 67.59%, Malout 67.42%, Abohar 61.98%, Ferozepur Rural 65.72%, Abohar 61.98 and Ferozepur Urban 60.92%.

Out of the total votes in Ferozepur of 16,70,008, 11,19,167 were polled which comes to 67.02%, including 6,04,833 men voted out of total votes 8,80,617 which comes to 68.68 per cent and in women, out of 7,89,343, 5,14,317 votes were polled, which comes to 65.16% while 35.42% voting percentage was by third genders.
