Ferozepur police install CCTV cameras at Cantt railway station crossing to monitor crime
Ferozepur, March 5, 2023: Taking another step and with the aim of crime detection by identifying the criminals for escaping to put a check on the crime in the city, the police have installed close circuit television (CCTV) cameras surveillance, outside the main Cantt Railway Station crossing, which is found to be a key tool in crime prevention.
To bring down the snatching crime graph or any other untoward incidents in the city, the Municipal Council has already sent a proposal to the Punjab government for installation of 100 CCTV cameras in the city.
Earlier, the CCTV cameras were installed at Bazwala chowk, after the incident of an attack on a woman after coming out of the court complex where she had gone to appear in some hearing. She was so brutally attacked with swords that she was referred to the hospital at Faridkot.
Giving this information, SP(D) Randhir Kumar informed that installation of CCTV cameras will help in tracing cases of the incidents by bad elements in the society, who enter the border town Ferozepur by using the railway routes.
He said, now CCTV cameras are termed as primary tools to monitor population movements and to prevent crime and terrorism, both in the private and public sectors. This system is improving safety and security and helping in crime prevention purposes.
SP(D) said, CCTV camera surveillance will keep a hawk’s eye on the roads as technical evidence provided by CCTV cameras has always played a major role in crime detection.
