Ferozepur police held 2 drug smugglers with heroin
Ferozepur, August 21, 2024: A special operation led by the Anti-Narcotics Cell and Ferozepur Police resulted in the arrest of two drug smugglers and the seizure of 500 grams of heroin. The operation, conducted on Tuesday, also led to the recovery of a stolen motorcycle bearing registration number PB-05Z-3228.
The suspects, identified as Harpreet Singh and Ranjit Singh, were apprehended near Ferozepur during a routine police check. Both are believed to be involved in drug trafficking activities in the region.
Following the arrests, an FIR has been registered against Ranjit Singh under Section 148 of the NDPS Act. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their criminal activities.
This operation is part of a broader initiative by the Ferozepur Police to crack down on drug-related crimes in the area. Authorities have vowed to continue their efforts to curb the menace of narcotics in the region. Both accused have a criminal history related to drug offences as Ranjit Singh is already booked under multiple sections of the NDPS Act in 2020.
