Ferozepur police gets ‘third eye’ to check crime

Ferozepur July 21, 2018: The police and residents of Ferozepur, have finally got the ‘third eye’ that they have been waiting since long, to put a check on the number of theft and loot incidents in Ferozepur.

The Punjab government has released Rs.1 crore to bring the City and Cantonment areas under surveillance with the installation of CCTV Cameras, said Parminder Singh Pinki, MLA Ferozepur.

Giving this information, Parminder Singh Pinki said, sometime back a deputation of his constituency had met him with regard to increase in the incidents of theft and loot and demanded the installation of CCTV Cameras so that in the event of any such incident, the accused could be detected with the help of CCTV footage.

In fact, the police have been feeling helpless as a number of cases were not solved in the absence of CCTV cameras that could have provided vital clues. The cameras, with the ability to rotate 360 degrees, have laser light sensitivity for clearer images of vehicular movement and night vision to assist the police.

Pinki further stated that keeping in view the demand of the local residents, he had a talk with the Chief Minister and the work on this project will start shortly.

He said, the control of these CCTV cameras will be in City police station, Sadar police station, police headquarter and police check posts to keep an eye on the movements in the city at every step with expert staff on duty.  In the event of any incident of loot of theft, the police will reach to the accused.
