Ferozepur police bust vehicle theft gang, 2 held with 8 bikes
Ferozepur, March 17, 2024: The Ferozepur police have successfully apprehended a gang of two-wheeler thieves operating in the district. This has resulted in the recovery of eight motorcycles. The two gang members who were involved in stealing high-end motorcycles have been arrested.
According to SSP Soumya Mishra said, the police team, under the guidance of Jugraj Singh DSP(HQ) and Sukhvinder Singh, DSP(City), has intensified its efforts to curb theft and robbery. The police search is ongoing to catch those involved in the theft of motorcycles. Two accused have been arrested on a tip-off and identified as Sukhraj Singh and Vikas alias Vicky of Ferozepur. Motorbike theft is a serious crime with devastating consequences.
To avoid such incidents, it is important to protect your bike with proper locks and security systems and always park it in well-lit areas. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities to prevent theft. The accused had been stealing bikes at the demands of prospective buyers.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused admitted to selling the stolen bikes with fake statements and documentation. Earlier, two bikes were recovered from them, and six more bikes were recovered after getting the remanded during the investigation from designated places.
Further investigation may lead to the recovery of more stolen bikes in the past and the possible involvement of other gang members.
