Ferozepur police arrest 14 persons under NDPS, Excise Acts with recovery of heroin, illicit liquor
Ferozepur, July 26, 2023: The Ferozepur police have arrested as many as 14 persons in the district from different locations under NDPS and Excise Acts with recovery of heroin, illicit liquor and habit forming drugs.
As per the information, the accused arrested are – Avtar Singh of Tarn Taran with 200 gm heroin, Ramesh Kumar alias Mesha with 20 gm heroin, Patras alias Mintu Singh of Tarn Taran with 100 gm heroin, Charanjit Singh alias Babbu of Talwandi Bhai in Ferozepur with 22 gm heroin, Rajvinder Singh alias Harjinder Singh of Mudki in Ferozepur with 12 gm, Kuldipl Singh alias Pidi with 18 gm, Gurlal Singh of Gamewala in Ferozepur with 10 gm and Angrez Singh alias Saini with 200 habit forming drugs, Luvpreet Singh of Mohkam Wala in Makhu with 40 gm, Jaswinder Singh alias Kala and Paramjit Singh of Dulo Ke in Ferozepur with 50 bottles of illicit liquor, Angrez Singh of Zira with 200 habit forming drug tablets and Jagsir Singh alias Gora with 21 illegal liquor bottles and Desa of Norang Ke Syal with 50 bottles of illicit liquor. All have been booked under the various relevant sections of IPC at the concerned police stations and further investigations are with the IOs.
In all, 422 gm heroin and 271 illicit liquor bottles and 200 habit forming drugs were recovered. SSP said, the anti-drug campaign will be the priority of the police and it will be a regular feature to make the district drug free.
