Ferozepur: 5 deaths, 178 new COVID-19 +ve cases
Ferozepur, May 23, 2021: Covid-19 positive continue to surface in the district and on Tuesday 178 new cases have been reported with 5 deaths. However, 171 positive persons have also recovered.
Deputy Commissioner Gurpal Singh Chahal made an appeal to the people to follow the Covid related instructions to save yourself and also save the life of others. Staying home is safe, followed by Vaccination and move out of home only in emergent case that too by wearing mask, maintaining social distance and washing hands after touching any thing.
Three containment – 2 at Ferozepur and one at Ferozepur Urban and 25 micro-containment zones – 6 at Mamdot, 6 Guruharshai, 3 Ferozshah, 3 Kssoana, 7 Ferozepur Urban still under under monitoring.
As per the report, ,64,340 samples were taken, since the outbreak of virus, out of which 1,51,664 were negative, 12,076 positive, 10,075 were recovered while 1,639 are active cases and reports of 600 samples are,, still awaited.
With 5 deaths today are in the age group of 50 to 81 years are of one females and four males in Mamdot, Feroepur Urban and Guruharshai blocks taking the totally of deaths to 372
In the vaccination drive, 168 have been given vaccination of 18-44 years today taking the total to 8,906 and 839 to 45 plus age including the frontline and health workers taking the total vaccination figure to 1,01,595
