FCI staff celebrating kitchen garden under National Nutrition Week
Ferozepur, September 20, 2020: With an aim to create awareness about good nutrition and health, the staff of Food Corporation of India, Makhu, celebrated National Nutrition Week, by starting the kitchen garden by making the best use of during the Coronavirus lockdown period.
Speaking on the occasion, Jaswinder Singh, Food Storage Depot Manager, and Manager Quality Jatinder Singh along with Paramjit Singh, AG-1, and other staff inaugurated the kitchen garden wherein various vegetables and lemon spinach, cauliflower, etc. were planted in an organic way.
Jaswinder Singh said, our small depot of FCI is already home to hundreds of trees of various types. Adding he said, nutrition plays an important role in the overall development of an individual as a healthy mind resides in a healthy body.
He further said as a kitchen garden has never been more valuable but with this unique kitchen garden initiative, it will be another contribution to the pollution-free environment and producing a small quantity of organic vegetables. There is definitely a notable feel-good factor in this way of life when the staff will be busy in free-time to enjoy the world of vegetation kingdom.
