Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the Syunkat Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha had been demanding to take India out of the WTO.  In a video message, he said that Modi after taking over as PM has joined the G7 Summit and his intention behind joining the event is to hand over the agriculture sector in the hands of corporate houses.

He said, the huge gathering at the protest site that has been going on since February 13, is itself a proof that the farmers are still in high spirit to continue to fight with the central government over its demands which include the major demand for legal guarantee of MSP, fixing of rates as per C2 Plus formula, waiving of debt of farmers, 200 days work for labourers at Rs.700 per day and others.

Talking about global warming, which has a direct impact on the farmer’s crop and economy, he said, we were talking about crop insurance but in the meantime, new agendas are coming as to how to hand over the agriculture sector to corporate houses. He said that in the recent elections, not only farmers and labourers but for common men have given a suitable reply to the Modi government in the coming times, many states like Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal etc, will give a befitting reply.

The farmer leaders from the protest platforms have asked for the third time the elected Modi government to give special attention to the demands of the farmers with a warning that till such time the demands are not accepted, our protests will continue.
