Farmers outfit alleges discrimination over entry across barbed-wire fence near border, BSF denies charge
Ferozepur November 16, 2019: Border Sangharsh Committee led by Gulzar Singh, President alleged discrimination over entry across barbed-wire from Gate No.195 near Indo-Pak border but BSF authorities denied the charge.
Addressing the media persons by holding a press conference in Press Club Ferozepur, Gulzar Singh representing the five villages – Bhamba Hazi, Ruhela Hazi DT Mal, Nihala Kilcha Gandhu Kilcha Uttar/Httar – alleged that land-mafia is active for taking possession of government land of around 1100 acres at DT Mal Post near Indo-Pak border across the barbed-wire fence, despite imposition of Section 145 IPC – Procedure where dispute concerning land or water is likely to cause breach of peace – and appointing of ‘receiver’ after proper demarcation on June 3, 2019.
He said, the receivers appointed are not taking care of the land. He demanded to put a ban the entry of those persons across the barbed-wire fence from Gate No195, having no land across the fencing wire. He also alleged that BSF officials show discrimination over entry and checking of person at the entry across the barbed-fence wire and certain persons are doing illegal business of smuggling.
We have brought all these facts to the various authorities and demand a thorough investigation from the senior officers and stop the entry of any person when all the ‘girdawri’ of land across the fencing wire, have been cancelled, he added.
On the other hand, BSF sources said, there is a very fool-proof system and no one is allowed to enter across the fencing wire without valid identity. Even the labour is also allowed only after proper verification and identification and everything is kept on record at the particular Unit level. The allegations by any civilian are totally false and BSF officials are performing their duties with dedication.
Giving a warning, the Border Sangarsh Committee members said that in case a ban is not put on the land-mafia, the agitation will be intensified with the participation various farmers outfits, from November 18 in front of the DC Office.
