Farewell to Dr. Kulbhushan Agnihotri: Celebrating 27 Years of Dedication at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University

Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur, recently organized a heartfelt farewell in honor of Dr. Kulbhushan Agnihotri, Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities. Dr. Agnihotri, a PhD in mathematics from IIT Roorkee, has been an integral part of the university for 27 years, imparting his vast knowledge of mathematics. He has now been selected as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Dr. Agnihotri, known for his brilliance and popularity among students, was not only a dedicated teacher but also served as the NCC Incharge with the rank of Major. As one of the founding faculty members of the university, established in 1995 in honor of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, he played a key role in both academic and administrative capacities. Throughout his tenure, he took on multiple responsibilities, including Hostel Warden, Incharge of the Quest Club, Head of the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Dean of Accreditations, and Chairman of various academic and administrative committees. His leadership extended beyond the university as President of the Engineering College Teachers’ Association and as a member of several academic boards and committees.

Dr. Agnihotri’s contributions to research are equally remarkable. He has conducted extensive research at SBSSU Ferozepur, IKGPTU Kapurthala, and IIT Roorkee, with numerous publications in high-impact international journals, earning him a prestigious place in the academic research community.

The farewell event was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Susheel Mittal, who praised Dr. Agnihotri’s invaluable contributions and expressed concern about the void his departure would create. He encouraged the faculty to rise to the challenges ahead and assured his continued support.

Dr. Tejeet Singh, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, reminisced about Dr. Agnihotri’s profound impact as a teacher and human being, while Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Associate Professor, highlighted his research achievements and mentorship. Sh. Gurpreet Singh, President of the Technical Staff Union, appreciated Dr. Agnihotri’s compassionate and respectful demeanor toward all members of the university community.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from University PRO Sh. Yash Pal, who summarized Dr. Agnihotri’s enduring legacy and expressed gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Prof. Susheel Mittal for attending the farewell, traveling from IKGPTU Kapurthala to grace the occasion.
