Family planning is also responsibility of men, says Civil Surgeon
Sterilization Fortnight awareness programme from Nov 21 to Dec 4

Ferozepur, November 23, 2022:  Family planning has a very important place in the development of any family, society and country, but family planning is ignored by many families, especially in our society, men do not show much interest in this subject.  Adoption of family planning methods is considered to be the responsibility of women only, while men also have an equal responsibility.  This expression was made on the occasion of meeting over Sterilization Fortnight programme going from November 21 to December 4, by Dr.Rajinder Pal Civil Surgeon.

He said that the Health Department provides free temporary and permanent means of family planning for women and men and during the sterilization fortnight awareness is being created among the people about the means of family planning for men, the couples are being motivated to adopt these means.

Civil Surgeon also instructed the officials present to motivate more and more men in their area to adopt birth control.  He said that the permanent method of family planning for men is a very simple operation which is incision and stitch free.  He said that an incentive of Rs.1,100 is also given to men who undergo vasectomy and this operation does not cause any kind of weakness in men.
