Fake currency gang busted in Ferozepur, Rs.94,000 in different denomination recovered
Ferozepur January 7, 2019: Narcotic Cell, Ferozepur Cantt claimed to busted a gang of fake currency gang with the arrest of two persons with fake Indian currency notes – FICN.
The police have registered a case on the report of Dalwinder Singh Incharge, Narcotic Cell. Giving this information, he said, the police party was available near DAV College Ferozepur Cantt during routine patrolling and checking when a tip-off was received that two persons standing on the back wall of Orphans building are having counterfeit notes who print the fake Indian currency and further circulate in the market.
Secret sources were deployed with specific ask to nab the accused. Working on the tip-off, the police team swung into action and a raid was conducted and Rs.94,000 fake India currency notes were recovered from them. The notes were in the denomination of seven notes of Rs.2000, 50 notes of Rs.500 and 275 notes of Rs.200 each.
Both the accused identified as Surjit Singh of Faridkot and Des Singh of Babe Tarewal Wala Khuh of Guruharsahai were arrested and booked under Sections 489-A, 489-B and 489-C of IPC. The investigations are still on to ascertain their further links with regard to the supply of fake currency notes.
