Ex-Akali MLA, Cantt Board Members along with unidentified persons booked for assaulting a police
Ferozepur, February 1, 2018: A case under the various Sections of IPC has been registered against Ex-Akai MLA Joginder Singh Jindu, and his two sons – Cantt Board Vice President Surinder Singh Babbu, Member Rohit have been booked for assaulting police force to obstruct them from performing the duty.
Giving the details, Satpal Singh ASI informed that on Wednesday, he along with Raman Kumar, SI Mallanwala with his police party had arrested Sunil Kur alias Sheela Kabadia, Member Cantt Board, Ferozepur Cantt accused in the case No.11/31 Jan 2018 under Section 379/411, by making a raid. He said, in the meantime, ex-Akali MLA Joginder Singh Jindu, Surinder Singh Babo and Rohit, Baljinder Singh PA, Major Singh of Rukna Begu, Rakesh Kumar and 15-16 unidentified persons forcible escort free Sheela from police custody and threatened with dire consequences besides torn of the uniform of PHC Gurbaksh Singh and he injured them.
A case under Section – 353. Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty and 186, 332, 225, 341, 506, 148, 149 of IPC and 25, 27, 54, 59 of Arms Act, on the statement of Satpal Singh, have been registered and further investigations are on.
