District-Level Screening Committee approves loan schemes for 16 beneficiaries
Ferozepur, August 13, 2024: A meeting of the District-Level Screening Committee was held to discuss the approval of various loan schemes. The meeting was chaired by Gurmeet Singh Brar, District Social Justice Officer-cum-Chairman of the District-Level Screening Committee, at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Bhawan in Ferozepur.
During the meeting, Parjeet Singh, District Field Officer from Backfinco, presented the agenda to the committee. Representatives from the District Industry Centre and the Deputy Finance and Statistical Advisor’s office were also in attendance.
The committee reviewed and approved loan applications under two key schemes aimed at providing financial support for self-employment and allied businesses, particularly for the underprivileged sections of society. A total of 11 beneficiaries were approved for direct loans amounting to ₹22 lacs under the Swayam Rozgar scheme, and an additional 5 beneficiaries were approved for ₹10 lacs under the NMDC scheme, bringing the total approved amount to ₹32 lacs.
Chairman Brar instructed the department’s officers to raise awareness among the backward communities about various economic development initiatives, ensuring that as many eligible individuals as possible benefit from these schemes.
