Ferozepur, February 8, 2017 : Due to limited cash flow even after three months of demonetization has put the common man in a problem and the ground reality refuses to ease despite claims otherwise from the government.
Still long queues are seen outside the ATMs due to shortage of cash with the banks and most of the ATMs are dry since the announcement of demonetization.
No doubt, those who have access to the internet and used to swipe the ATMs cards with the availability of machines at most of the shops and stores, but the common man is still feeling difficulty and is seen standing in the queues.
The business in the market is also hit as the people are going to the market on need basis only. Even as large parts of villagers remain unavailable to share their views for lack of accessible digital contact and those in the city are turned impatient.
Post Office which has also introduced India Post ATM Cards which was later on connected to all the ATMs of the banks was seen dry since the day one of demonetization.
Almost every class is finding it difficult to have cash as per his requirement especially those whose construction works and other family rituals like marriage, are held up.
When talked to certain people standing in the queue, they said, before announcement of demonetization, sufficient currency has been printed to feed the banks as per requirement keeping in view their previous cash flows.
A retired Bank Manager, S.D.Sharma from a nationalized bank said, sufficient cash available in the market otherwise there would have been hue and cry. Moreover, the people are happy with the decision of the government to put a check on the black money. The position will definitely ease after March 31, when most of the business concerns who are keeping cash with them will deposit back to square up their accounts.
