Delhi Bikers Group’s journey to Holy Hussainiwala – the Land of Martyrs ! :
For Amit Manocha, Advocate member of Delhi Bikers Group, along with other four members from different professions – was a great day for him to start my maiden bike journey. Pure days of Navratras coupled with all Fasts. He narrated his story in his own words…
Woke up at 3.20 a.m. Lit the Holy Jyoti, prayed for a safe journey and left at 4.30 a.m. with my co-riders. We all were unknown to each other and what was common between us was the feeling of patriotism, love for biking and lack of long route biking experience.
We a team of five members, all drove to Wagah Border to pay our first homage. Thereafter we visited Golden Temple and prayed . We also visited Jaliana Wala Bagh and then left for Firozpur and from there to Hussainiwala, the Samadhi place of MARTYRS. However, due to PM’s visit on 23rd the entire areas was sealed and cordoned off. We were stopped to go till Samadhi at various places for hours. We were also asked to pay our tribute from far distance outside. We also met very top officials of Defence and police and told them about our journey theme and showed them the various tribute messages we were carrying along. After repeated efforts, finally we came cross one Senior official from Punjab Police (name withheld), who understood our patriotism and took one of us (me) to the Samadhi of the Martyrs. Unfortunately we were again held up 50 mts before the Samadhi as all the entrances were sealed. At our request, he then ordered the official Canteen owner inside Samdhi premises (apx 50 mts near Samadhi) to safely keep all messages with her and after the PM visit is over, to tender them at the Samadhis of the Martyrs.
We were finally able to attain peace at heart as the lovely tribute messages for the martyrs were in safe hands now.
During this course we also came across certain rude, offensive and ill spoken defense /police officials, saying unwanted things to us, but we refused to get demotivated or discouraged by their behavior towards us and we continued our efforts to pay our tribute. Not to miss, they were also suitably answered by the Lawyer inside me. We also thanked all the police officials for understanding what we were going but were helpless as part of their duty but we did not forget and in fact felt proud to click ourselves with some of them. Before we could request the great Senior Official (who took me in) for a click with us, there was a wireless call to him and he rushed for his another duty towards the nation. Our salute and helmets off to him.
We also met another great and helpful person, Shri Deepak Kalra, a renowned journalist at Firozpur for all his guidance, efforts and pains taken for us by him by using all his resources to attain our theme. We thank him from the core of our hearts.
The ride was awesome with “Safety First” motto. All of us were first time riders for such a long journey on the motorcycles. We covered 1213 Km from home to home within 60 hrs. Travelling through different cities, towns and villages of India was awesome. The response of the people was outstanding, friendly, helpful and very patriotic. We carried their lovely best wishes with us which kept us safe and secure on the wheels till home.
An unforgettable experience and journey …!
