CTU and FMC organizes Weekend of Wellness to promote fitness
Ferozepur, February 4, 2018: CT University in association with Municipal Council Ferozepur organized a fitness event Weekend of Wellness (WOW) in the premises of O/s Municipal Council Park, Ferozepur from 6 am onwards today. The event saw hundreds of locals participating in various fun-filled fitness activities.
The event saw the presence of Mr. Vipin, President Green Life Welfare Society, the team of Swacch Bharat Mission 2018 from Municipal Council, Dr. Saroj, a social worker.
The event of its kind galvanized people to participate in a shared vision of an active and healthy way of living. It was organized with an aim to inspire people to use the space in a holistic manner. It was all about opening streets to people, sharing resources, transforming communities. It was a milestone crafted to galvanize the citizens to participate in a shared vision of an active, car-free lifestyle. The traffic was not allowed for three hours as residents reformed their roads as open-air dance studios, art hubs, gymnasiums and yoga institutes. Many fun-filled and healthy activities took place like cross fit, cycling, Horse Riding, Circuit training, Bolly X, Vedic Yoga, Aerobics, Zumba and Bhangra on Live Dhol, Table Tennis Gully Cricket, Tug of War, Open DJ, Badminton, Soccer, and many more.
Councillor Manmeet Singh Mithu thanked CT University for organizing this awareness event related to health and wish to have similar events in near future.
Telling about the event, Pro Vice-Chancellor CT University, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti said, “CT University aims to encourage people to start walking, cycling and planting more trees for a healthy living with different events. We have already organized this event in Ludhiana, Malerkotla and Jalandhar cities.”
