Counter Intelligence bust interstate weapon smuggling module, 4 held with pistols
Ferozepur, September 7, 2022: On a tip-off with the police, during checking of suspicious nature persons in the area of Kulgarhi police station, the Counter Intelligence wing has busted interstate weapon smuggling module and nabbed four persons, are doing the business of illegal sale and purchase of weapons., said AIG Police, Counter Intelligence, Ferozepur Lakhbir Singh.
AIG CI informed that the accused have been identified as David of village Vadala in Amritsar, Sukhchain Singh alias Chena of village alwandi Mange Khan under Sadar Zira police station, Sahil alias Sem alias Sameul of village Khilchian Kadim of Ferozepur and Luvpreet Singh alias Lovely of village Dhaul Kalan of Amritsar.
Working actively on the in-put, all the four were nabbed with Honda city car No.DL-1C-AE-6959 Silver grey colour and during search, 4 pistols .32 bore, 8 magazine and 11 live cartridges were recovered from their possession. A case under Arms Act Sections 25/54/59 has been registered at Fazilka and further investigations are on, he said.
During the preliminary investigation, it has come to surface that they used to bring pistols from Khandwa City in Madhya Pradesh and sell the same in Punjab to different persons. It is pertinent to mention that the accused are already booked in different police stations. They will be produced in the court to get police remand and more clues are likely to come on surface, he added.
